Les Objets Impossibles - Object 1 (excerpt) from Abstract Birds on Vimeo.
Commisioned by Arcadi, in collaboration with Cité de la musique, Ensemble Intercontemporain, IRCAM and Dmitri Kourliandski.
The live audiovisual concert will be on the 27th of november in Paris, at the Cité de la Musique.
We will take care of the realtime projected images while the Ensemble Intercontemporain will perform two pieces from the russian composer Dmitri Kourliandski.
Each musician of the Ensemble will be analyzed separately in Max-MSP, thanks to Thomas Goepfer from IRCAM, and the resulting data are sent to vvvv which generates the visuals. We will interact in realtime, controlling several parameters of the piece, as well as directing the camera movements.

Anamorphic Architecture from zizizic on Vimeo.
Process -
Artists developed low polygon forms from basic primitives and through a series of deformations and replications produced a structure with minimal data. These structures where then developed (made planar) in order for them to be printed two dimensionally.
This enabled the surface to be re-constructed backto its original 3D form. As the object exists in 3D in both digital and analogue form this allows us to project animations and graphic back onto the object from the digital version with relative accuracy. In effect the form exists in digital and analogue spaces simultaneously.
The analogue and digital spaces are converging into what has become known as Augmented Space or Augmented Reality. This convergence will accelerate in the near future as LED architectural surface technology and motor actuators become cheaper.

Exile - Population Control (Remixed by Samiyam, Dibiase, Free the Robots) from gregthedude on Vimeo.
Exile’s “Population Control” is a trippy, mind-bending video scored by Samyiam, Dibiase and Free The Robots who all remixed the same track featured on ‘AM/FM.’ Inspired by Exile’s “We Are All In Power” video, visual artist Greg “The Dude” Ponstingl created the video using thousands of still images and striking visual effects to make a boombox literally come to life. The result is a rather trippy experience, and if you are prone to seizures, look away.
When I first watched “We are all in Power,” I was blown away. A year later, I was able to meet with Ex and start working on this video. This project gave me the chance to be experimental and work differently. Using 3 songs in one video was something that intrigued me because, in my opinion, the traditional “music video” is a way of the past. We need visual artists to think outside the box and re-invent the “music video.”

[Miga_v18] López Montes “Último Estudio para Átanos” from Miga on Vimeo.
////////// eng ///////////////
On the way that Miga netlabel has gone through we have established relation with a great number of the artists that we have found in several cities, from our country or abroad. But sometimes we meet artists from our own city by accident. That is the case.
López Montes, compositor and teacher of improvisation at the conservatory of Granada, has one foot set on electroacustic music and the other one on experimentation with music synthesis. Our release [Miga_v18] “Último estudio para Átanos”, is a good example of all the creative capability of this artist and its work procedure, full of comings and goings between music, sounds, generative programation and abstract forms setting.
The artist has also incoporated the choice of listening this release on 5.1 audio system, and we have taken the opportunity to offer you this realease in other video formats (3GP and M4V) for mobile devices.
Our suggentions: full screen and loud.
////////// esp ///////////////

Michael Fakesch - 7 Disco ft. High Priest from Michael Titze on Vimeo.
A visual music clip for Michael Fakesch.
Michael Titze wrote :
” Created for my diploma thesis at the university of applied sciences augsburg 2010.
Significant to the layout and structure of a VJ performance, CONTINUUM is a video project
that combines the idea that the live performance and the music video viewing experiences can
be translucent of one another. In order to make this process work, a looping system was created
consisting of two steps. The first step is producing a series of short experimental video clips derived
of animated objects, geometric shapes and organic forms, and the second step is finding a similar
context between these abstract videos and looping them together. This looping system created
a final piece whose outcome can be used for two parts; a static clip based on the characteristics
of a conventional music video or a visual for a live VJ performance.”

Energie! in HD from Thorsten Fleisch on Vimeo.
From a mere technical point of view the TV/video screen comes alive by a controlled beam of electrons in the cathode ray tube. For ‘Energie!’ an uncontrolled high voltage discharge of 30.000 volts exposes multiple sheets of photographic paper which are then arranged in time to create new visual systems of electron organization.

Jemapur - Clarte from Genki Ito on Vimeo.
The latest film by W+K Tokyo Lab creator, Genki Ito.
A curiosity toward science unfolds into an unknown world…
Taking as its inspiration the sub-atomic world of a nuclear fusion reaction,
Clarte visually re-imagines this microcosm into a beautifully poetic
animation, pulsing and flowing along with Jemapur’s dark and textured sound.
Experimenting with HDV recording, analog footage of milk floating on water,
sediment in rotten wine, and caustics from reflected projector lights were
all incorporated into the digital animation.
